Portfolio 02: Winter Quilt

FORMULATED is the Tortuga Forma journal about the rituals we create around the home, the objects that bring us joy, and the stories behind how things are made.

Part 2 of film images commissioned by Tortuga Forma. Helena Goñi approaches still life objects as though they were human subjects. The objects look the camera directly in the eye without flinching. They leave an impression - even when no longer present. They flirt and hide themselves within domestic scenes. Positioned alongside scenes between Bilbao and New York City, the objects find new purposes and stories to tell.

Helena Goñi is an artist and freelance photographer from the Basque Country, currently living in New York. https://helenagoni.com/
